10 Ways To Improve Your Skin From The Inside, Out

So by now you babes know that exfoliating and moisturising is the key to smooth, soft, radiant skin... but there’s a little more to it if you REALLY want to have the healthiest complexion possible. Today we’re going to fill you in on the 10 most important things you
can do in your everyday life to take your skin from a 5 to a 10.



1. Hydration baby

Drinking enough water is the number one, most important thing you can do for your skin’s overall health. You should be aiming for at least 2 litres per day. When you are dehydrated, your skin looks dull and lifeless, and fine lines and wrinkles may even start to appear. Once you are hydrated properly and consistently your skin begins to look younger, brighter and even starts to get that glow we all lust over. By keeping your skin hydrated reduces the risk of premature aging, acne, blackheads, psoriasis and other nasty skin conditions.

2. Avoid refined sugar

Refined sugar is not your friend, in fact it;s your worst enemy and is bad for every aspect of your health, but for today we will stick to how it damages your skin. Refined sugar is an inflammatory that disrupts your hormone balances, can bring on acne and encourages early signs of aging. Remove refined sugars from your diet by cutting out processed foods, if you must continue consuming these foods, remember to always check the labels. If you have a sweet tooth, curb your cravings with fresh fruit.

3. Essential fatty acids

Not all fats are bad for you, despite popular misconception. There are certain fats your body needs for optimum health. These are called essential fatty acids. These good fats do absolute wonders for your skin, they are hydrating and promote youth by reducing fine lines and wrinkles. You can get a good dose of these babies by consuming chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, cashew nuts, macadamia nuts, olives and avocadoes.

4. Probiotics

Taking a regular probiotic is not only beneficial for your digestion, nearly all aspects of your health, including your skin, start from the gut. The good bacteria in probiotics help to kill bad bacteria and toxins in your body that can lead to adverse skin conditions such as acne. Studies have shown that taking probiotics regularly can improve your skins overall health and appearance.

5. Green juices and smoothies

It is common knowledge that the regular consumption of dark leafy greens is great for your health, but did you know the positive impact they have directly on your skin? Dark leafy greens are packed with vitamins A and K which are known to assist in the healing and repair of skin cells and hydrating the skin from within. A diet high in vitamin C helps to prevent fine lines and wrinkles and to produce collagen, which helps to improve skin tone and elasticity. You can get that daily dose of vitamin C by consuming citrus fruits, broccoli, chillies, capsicums, kale, berries and brussels sprouts.

7. Vitamin E

Vitamin E, an essential nutrient for your complexion, works to stop free radicals that
damage and age your skin. It protects your skin from the environment and harmful pollutants as it is an antioxidant. Vitamin E is also moisturising and an anti-inflammatory, so it helps to reduce skin conditions such as acne. We know that exercise is good for our overall health, but exactly how does working up a sweat and raising our heart rate directly affect our skin? 10. Ditch The Ciggies
